I can barely believe that another holiday season has come and gone. The past week has been chock full of family, celebration, and lots and lots of food! We spent Christmas with our families in snowy New England, but now we’re back in the city enjoying how quiet this week is while many people are still out of town.
We ate three Christmas dinners this year — one on Christmas Eve and two on Christmas Day! There were roasts, vegetables, seafood, and plenty of sweets. Here’s roast #1 and an impressive Yorkshire pudding (if you’ve never had this, I highly recommend it — it’s an egg-y batter bread cooked in the drippings from the roast).
I’m looking forward to ringing in 2014. I’m not really one for resolutions, but I definitely have some goals in mind for the coming year. Frank helped me to start working toward one of my goals by gifting me with a 5-week long culinary class at the Institute of Culinary Education for Christmas! I’m really excited to refine my cooking skills and work on creating my own recipes to share here! I’m also going to take a food blogging class at ICE in January, which I’m totally excited about!
Happy New Year, everyone! See you in 2014!
